Mountain Empire Community College has completed its construction of a 766-kilowatt solar power system provided by Secure Solar Futures. This came at no capital cost to the college as it was completed through a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement.
The system will provide approximately 31% of the power used by MECC during the first year and provide internship opportunities for five students while installing the solar panel system.
